The Sadies - Toronto, 12/31/06

(Whoa. An update. No updates since forever, I'm sorry.) Alright, well I think I spent New Year's Eve with the Sadies, it was so long ago that the mind grows fuzzy. Ah yes, their annual Horseshoe Tavern NYE hoedown, that's where I was. I'm sure that I was chock full of exciting show anecdotes the days following, but I'm fresh out now. I do recall that they played until about 4 a.m., and although the folks that I was with were beginning to tire, I'm not lying when I say I could've gone all night. I also recall that 2007 will be the "BEST YEAR EVER". Here's the SET LIST. Highlights for me: their cover of the Byrd's "Wasn't Born To Follow", back-to-back Syd Barrett songs in finale, and Dallas + Max McCabe's (Deadly Snakes) songs together - I swear I've never seen The Cadaverous One so animated. Made me go all squishy inside.

The lights were all over the place spectrum-wise, and knowing the size of the Horseshoe I brought my uber wide lens. So the photos are kind of spatially odd & psychedelic... none are very technically good, but they work for me at least. I posted up this one because a) I think it's the only shot I've ever gotten of the entire band on one stage, and b) Dallas's shoes.
