The Avett Brothers - 10/7/07

The Avett Brothers @ the Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto - North Carolina's Avett Brothers must have the hardest working stagehand/roadie in country/rock. Scott Avett broke no less than 6 banjo & guitar strings during their 90-some minute set, and no sooner would one snap than their stage fella would come running with a pre-strung replacement. He'd grab the broken instrument, run to side stage, and immediately set about restringing it for the next snap. Toward the end, the brothers broke strings nearly simultaneously, and Seth had to play with a half-strung guitar (as evidenced in some of the photos) while he waited. Looks like they need to clone that roadie. The show was just incredible, they must not have expected much from Toronto (their first time here), because the enthusiastic crowd really seemed to bowl them over. And Toronto actually DANCED (believe it or not).
