Elliott Brood @ the Dakota Tavern, Toronto ... And so my love affair with the Dakota continues. Toronto-by-way-of-Windsor boys Elliott Brood did an impromptu little show at the Dakota following a shoot (take 2, even!) for their new video for their tune "Oh, Alberta". Fan favourite/solid choice. All sortsa dancin' at this show; everyone was having quite a blast (including the band - see quantity of whisky glasses surrounding setlist. And that was just the start). They ALWAYS deliver the fun...I've only seen one person have a sour time at a 'Brood show, shame shame. When the 3 owners of the Dakota were asked which band(s) they most wanted to play the place, one said the Rolling Stones, and the other 2 enthusiastically said "ELLIOTT BROOD!" So this show was a win-win. And really, with the Dakota's seemingly habitual luck in booking bands far more popular than their 200-person capacity can hold, will the Stones be far behind?
